About Us
The important thing is that in every way ... Christ is preached. Phil. 1:18

The Assemblies of God USA and Assemblies of God organizations around the world make up the world's largest Pentecostal denomination with some 51 million members and adherents. But numbers fail to tell the real story, and statistics can never meet human needs. People who need help in coming to know God, have problems in their home, or are troubled by any of a multitude of other things that keep people from being happy and fulfilled, need someone who cares. And that's the message of our Fellowship. Because Jesus cares for people, the Assemblies of God are people who care about each other.

We are committed to fulfilling a three-fold mission:

  1. To introduce non-believers to Jesus Christ;
  2. To provide an environment for worshiping God and fellowshiping with others who hold similar values and love for God;
  3. To effectively train and nurture believers. Learn more about our vision for the new millennium.

What to Expect When Visiting an Assemblies of God Church: Variety … that’s what you’ll find when you visit our services. But one thing you should expect in every Assemblies of God church is a personal, uplifting worship experience. Our services are geared for participation. We typically worship as we live, with enthusiasm.

16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God

These are non-negotiable tenets of faith that all Assemblies of God churches adhere to. This list is derived from the official Statement of Fundamental Truths. View the full Statement of Fundamental Truths in English or in Spanish.

1. WE BELIEVE ... The Scriptures are Inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.

The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

  • 2 Timothy 3:15-17
  • 1 Thessalonians 2:13
  • 2 Peter 1:21

2. WE BELIEVE... There is only One True God–revealed in three persons...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

  • Deuteronomy 6:4
  • Isaiah 43:10,11
  • Matthew 28:19
  • Luke 3:22

3. WE BELIEVE... In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God's son Jesus was both human and divine.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare:

  • His virgin birth: Matthew 1:23
  • His sinless life: Hebrews 7:26
  • His miracles: Acts 2:22
  • His substitutionary work on the cross: 1 Corinthians 15:3
  • His bodily resurrection from the dead: Matthew 28:6
  • His exaltation to the right hand of God: Acts 1:9

4. WE BELIEVE ... though originally good, Man Willingly Fell to Sin–ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world.

Man was created good and upright; for God said, "Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness." However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.

  • Genesis 1:26,27
  • Genesis 2:17
  • Genesis 3:6
  • Romans 5:12-19

5. WE BELIEVE ... Every Person Can Have Restored Fellowship with God Through 'Salvation' (accepting Christ's offer of forgiveness for sin). [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the A/G]

Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God, according to the hope of eternal life.

  • Luke 24:47
  • John 3:3
  • Romans 10:13-15

6. WE BELIEVE ... and practice two ordinances—(1) Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving Christ's gift of salvation, and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our salvation.

Baptism In Water

The ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded by the Scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Saviour and Lord are to be baptized. Thus they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.

  • Matthew 28:19
  • Mark 16:16
  • Acts 10:47,48
Holy Communion

The Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements --bread and the fruit of the vine-- is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4), a memorial of his suffering and death (1 Corinthians 11:26 ), and a prophecy of His second coming (1 Corinthians 11:26) and is enjoined on all believers "till He come!"

7. WE BELIEVE ... the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a Special Experience Following Salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the A/G]

All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry.

  • Luke 24:49
  • Acts 1:4
  • Acts 1:8

8. WE BELIEVE ... The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is ‘Speaking in Tongues,’ as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.

The baptism of believers in the Holy Ghost is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives them utterance.

  • Acts 2:4
The speaking in tongues in this instance is the same in essence as the gift of tongues, but is different in purpose and use.
  • 1 Corinthians 12:4-10
  • 1 Corinthians 12:28

9. WE BELIEVE ... Sanctification Initially Occurs at Salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christlike.

Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God.

  • Romans 12:1,2
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:23
  • Hebrews 13:12
The Scriptures teach a life of "holiness without which no man shall see the Lord."
  • Hebrews 12:14

10. WE BELIEVE ... The Church has a Mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe 'the Church' is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God's offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.

Since God's purpose concerning man is to seek and to save that which is lost, to be worshipped by man, and to build a body of believers in the image of His Son, the priority reason for being of the Assemblies of God as part of the Church is:

To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world.

  • Acts 1:8
  • Matthew 28:19,20
  • Mark 16:15,16
To be a corporate body in which man may worship God.
  • 1 Corinthians 12:13
To be a channel of God's purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son.
  • Ephesians 4:11-16
  • 1 Corinthians 12:28
  • 1 Corinthians 14:12

11. WE BELIEVE ... A Divinely Called and Scripturally Ordained Leadership Ministry Serves the Church. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, and to build up or edify the body of believers–the Church.

A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the threefold purpose of leading the Church in:

Evangelization of the world.

  • Mark 16:15-20
Worship of God.
  • John 4:23,24
Building a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son.
  • Ephesians

12. WE BELIEVE ... Divine Healing of the Sick is a Privilege for Christians Today and is provided for in Christ's atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins). [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the A/G]

Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers.

  • Isaiah 53:4,5
  • Matthew 8:16,17
  • James 5:14-18

13. WE BELIEVE ... in The Blessed Hope—When Jesus Raptures His Church Prior to His Return to Earth (the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. [1 of 4 cardinal doctrines of the A/G]

The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the church.

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17
  • Romans 8:23
  • Titus 2:13
  • 1 Corinthians 15:51,52

14. WE BELIEVE ... in The Millennial Reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. At that time many in the nation of Israel will recognize and accept Him as the Messiah, the Savior who died for them and all mankind.

The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for one thousand years.

  • Zechariah 14:5
  • Matthew 24:27
  • Matthew 24:30
  • Revelation 1:7

15. WE BELIEVE ... A Final Judgment Will Take Place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in a punishing lake of fire.

There will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to the everlasting punishment in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

  • Matthew 25:46
  • Mark 9:43-48
  • Revelation 19:20
  • Revelation 20:11-15
  • Revelation 21:8

16. WE BELIEVE ... and look forward to the perfect New Heavens and a New Earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. 'And so shall we forever be with the Lord!'

We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness."

  • 2 Peter 3:13
  • Revelation 21
  • Revelation 22
